Nathan and family

This was such a fun newborn shoot because he was so bright eyed and bushy tailed in the beginning =). All of the hard work though eventually wore him out and we got some sweet sleeping shots as well. Thanks guys. I had a great time hanging with you all for the morning. We've always called his older brother "Baby Will", but I guess his title has now changed to "Big brother Will".

Great deals now until this Friday (the 8th)!!!

Your last chance to purchase those images that you meant to get from your 2007 session! Expires this Friday February 8th.

Get 50% off of any prints from your 2007 session.
There will be a minimum order of $100.00 (sale pricing).

Get all of your images from your 2007 session on CD for only $400.00!!!!!!!!!
Yes, you read that correctly. I'm testing the waters a bit here for something that I may start offering in 2008.

I've received so many people asking about digital images and I realize that the digital age is here. You will be able to do with these images what you please, I would only ask that when you have them printed, please use a decent quality so as not to harm the reputation of Tammy McMillan Photography. You can use them to purchase prints for family or friends, print more for your home or collages, digital scrapbooking, to create gifts for family (from Ofoto or Snapfish), for digital frames or digital keychains, gift for Grandparents - the uses for these could go on and on.

You have to have met your $300.00 print order minimum for that 2007 session to be eligible for either of these offers. Shipping will be applied where applicable.

A day in your life..

I love everything about these types of sessions. I love how they steal a little moment of every day life to preserve that precious time in your families life to look at and cherish always. It's still much like any other indoor session. I will do some family shots (if that's what you're looking for) and a few shots of your child/children posed. The biggest focus though (as with most of my photography honestly) is unposed shots. I like to follow your family around - getting up in the morning and having breakfast nad bath time, just hanging out in the middle of the day, or bundling up and going for a walk. The choice is yours. You'll have me for two hours, but opportunites for longer sessons are also available. Custom designed bound books will be available for these types of sessions as well.

For the months of February and March you can have one of these sessions for a sitting fee of $100.00!!

The first five people to schedule one of these will receive a free 5x7 of their choice. Minimum orders still apply. To check out the website or pricing, please go to www.TammyMcMillan.com.

Not a creature was stirring....not even a D

I wen't from Christmas rush, to a tree falling on the house, to my husband having shoulder surgery, to Christmas, to family members coming to visit the day after Christmas. So, do you forgive me for not catching up during the holidays? ;)

I've honestly just caught my breath from all of that and the repairs have finally been finished on the house so now I'm ready to fully get into the swing of things here in 2008!

Here's a shot that I took of my little man at Christmas. This was supposed to be our Christmas card, but cards never made it out this year. There's no way that I could show you everything, but I'll try to catch up with some of my favorites from Christmas portrait sessions soon.

On the 15th day of Christmas, an ice storm brought to me.....

Yes. That would indeed be a tree laying on the power line and on our house. It happened at 4am and shook the house so badly that we just knew that it had come through the house. To make matters worse, it was on D's side of the house so needless to say, we broke our necks to get over there. Thankfully the tree penetrated the exterior of the house, but didn't actually come through - what a blessing and what a crazy experience.

Updates

Tammy McMillan Photography will be closed from December 15th through January 2nd, except for deliveries. Any portrait print purchases must be made by this Monday December 10th and fine art and GC's must be purchased by this Thursday December 13th.

The website email STILL isn't working so please continue to email me directly at my personal email at JeffAndTammyMac@aol.com. Sorry for any inconvenience.

DOUBLE $$$$$ DAYS!!

From now until this Thursday (December 13th) you have the option to purchase $25, $50, or $75 Gift certicates. If used between January 2nd and May 15th 2008 your gift certicates will be worth double the amount!

This would make such a great gift to hint for ;) or to give to close friends and family. Gift certificate double dollars are only for new session fees and/or prints from those sessions. Prints from previous sessions are not eligible for double dollars. GC's are available in any dollar combinations, but for $225.00 you can pay for someone's sitting fee and also their $300.00 print minimum (regular price for that would be $450.00). What a great deal! You're also welcome to purchase this for yourself as well.

If you have any questions please email me at jeffandtammymac@aol.com.

Fine Art by Tammy McMillan Photography

Yay! So excited about this. I now have a Fine Art Section. Please go take a look - http://www.bludomain8.com/tmcmillan/index2.php.
Sorry, just realized that the section isn't showing up on my real website but you can view it by going to the link shared above. Yet another glitch in my site that is totally out of my control. I'll let you know when that is fixed.

Now until this Thursday (December 13th), I am taking orders for Fine Art Prints and Mini Desktop Art. Of course you're still able to purchase them any time, but you will need to order by Thursday in order to have it by Christmas. Also if you order by this Thursday you'll receive 10% off of the price of any Fine Art Print (mini's excluded in this offer).

All of the Fine art is local in and around Fauquier and Loudon counties. Your print prices can be found at www.TammyMcMillan.com in the Investment section. The prices will be the same as portrait print prices.

The mini's are sooooooo much fun!! They're 5"x5" and come with an easel ready to display on your desk at work or anywhere in your home. Most come with an inspiration or quirky quote. This would really make a fun gift.

Please email me if you have any questions at JeffAndTammyMac@aol.com.

I'm lame!

Yes, I recognize that. What was I thinking trying to start a blog contest going into the craziest time of the year? There are so many winners that it makes me giggle. If you emailed me that you caught me and you haven't received your gift certicate by the beginning of January, please shoot me an email as a little reminder =).

You guys are awesome. One of my New Years resolutions is to be a better blogger in 2008. Out with the old, in with the new, right? ;)

What a cutie pie!

Oh this little guy was so much fun. He was born three months premature and really hasn't been able to go out very much, so this was his first time experiencing grass. It was so cute to see his reaction when those little feet touched the grass. What a joy it was to spend time with him and his mom.

What would you give?

What would you give to be able to freeze these moments, these expressions to be able to look back on them in years to come and remember? I was once in a store and D was being a total handful. An older lady approached me and could tell that I was flustered. She said, in the sweetest voice, "Honey what I wouldn't give to have my little boys back on their very worst day". That totally stopped me in my tracks. I'm sure she's right and I've reminded myself of that on those very frustrating days. That was such a gift she gave me that day. I hope to remember every smile, every pout, every expression and am so greatful that I've captured him throughout his life. I can't imagine that I'll forget, but what if I do? Those pictures will be priceless to me and even to look back on those baby pictures, they are already.

Fall

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn.
John Muir

I am so amazed at how beautiful the leaves have gotten just in the last few days. I've been so excited waiting for autumn this year and so glad that it's finally here. Don't forget to take time to go out and enjoy the weather before winter sets in. There's a few more spots left open for fall sessions. Give me a call asap if you want portraits for Christmas cards.

Family ties

I met up with two sisters and their families the day before one of them moved to Alaska for a few years. It was so neat to see the relationship between these kids and to be able to capture it before they moved away. They were such a wonderful family to work with, we really had a great time. It's usually hard to get a good shot of a big group of kids but they all did such a great job. Thanks guys. Looking forward to seeing you all again sometime.

Family

I've known this awesome lady for a few years now and just love her. It was a pleasure spending some time with her beautiful family. I'm so glad that we were able to capture their relationship before the girls get too much older and have moved on to the next stage of their life and before little man get's too much older. Thanks so much guys for choosing me to capture these precious times in your life.

Drowning Prevention

I'm so greatful that my son can finally swim. This opened my eyes though (with him being a new swimmer) if he could really survive in a scary situation.

This video is truly amazing to me!

Breathtaking

I always love to photograph her. I've had the pleasure of knowing this young lady her whole life and to be best friends with her mother my whole life. I can truly say that she is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the out. Love you Con!

I remember when Conner was little and toddling around. It seems like yesterday. Please don't forget to capture your little ones as much as possible. When your memory of the detais fade and they're all grown up you'll wish you had images of them just as they were. To me, that's more important than the next trip to Target or those new pair of shoes. These little ones are our life. Your family is what matters in the end.

Everything is starting to look so pretty, please call for your fall appointment. Very few slots still available.

So, how's your attitude?

I am reading THE BEST book! It's called "Lord help me change my attitude (before it's too late)".

I am sooo loving this book. It has really helped me view things differently. Just thought I'd pass this along in case there are others that need this book as much as I do. ;)

Here's a section of the book that really struck a chord with me tonight -
"A farmer stood by the road one day and observed a large wagon filled with household goods moving toward him. Dust flew as the wagon pulled to a stop and the driver shouted, "We're moving from Brownsville to Jonestown. How much farther is it?"
"About thirty miles" said the farmer.
"And what kind of people shall we expect to find there?" asked the traveler.
"Well, what kind of people did you leave behind in Brownsville?"
"Oh, they were so negative and so cheerless, so deceptive and so ungrateful, just a godless bunch, all of them. That's the main reason we are moving. What kind of people will we find in Jonestown?"
"The very same kind, I"m sorry to say", said the farmer."

"The way that we look at a matter, the attitude that we choose, has direct bearing on how we experience reality".
Wow!

The best laid plans...

Nice solid shirt that will blend with nature - check!
Shirt staying clean until we get to the apple orchard - check!
Visions of grandeur of the perfect images that
I would get of my two men at the orchard - check!
Two cooperative subjects that would look at
me so that I could take a few captures - ..................

See! It happens to all of us. Remember, one of the reasons that I can
capture wonderful images of your family is because I'm not
you! LOL.

I was busted already!

Shortly after midnight last night. The sad thing is, I was awake and looking through portraits that I had taken this weekend.

Congrats Kirsten Heffron!! You will receive a free session to be used any weekday in 2008. I had a great time with you guys before. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys again.

See! I told you guys I'd forget =). Time to step up my game - LOL.
